Desktop PCs global shipments 2010-2026
In 2022, global desktop PC shipments amounted to 81.6 million units. Due to the widespread uptake of laptops and notebooks, and more recently tablet devices and even smartphones, sales and shipment figures for desktop PCs have typically followed a trend of sinking steadily since 2012. Many experts argue, however, that there will always be a role for the traditional desktop PC, particularly in the workplace.
It has been predicated by many sources that the uptake of tablets amongst enterprise will increase into the future, although it has been forecast that an adoption rate close of 100 percent is still a few years away.
