Average price for selected nail salon services in the U.S. 2019

Of the most common types of nail treatment in the United States, the most expensive in 2019 was a full set of gels, with an average price of 51.29 U.S. dollars. Conversely, the cheapest was a basic manicure, which cost 22.75 U.S. dollars on average.

Most common nail services

Of the services generally offered at nail salons in the U.S., the most commonly provided in 2018 were basic manicures, which were offered by around 88 percent of salons. The other most common services were hard gels, pedicures and soak off-gels, with more than three-quarters of nail salons offering these services. There is a significant drop in popularity, with all other services being offered by less than two thirds of salons.

Nail services prices

Most of the common types of nail treatment have seen only moderate price rises over the last decade. For example, the cost of a basic manicure has risen by less than three U.S. dollars (or 12.5 percent) since 2010, while the cost of a basic pedicure has risen even less, increasing by under three U.S. dollars (8.8 percent) over the same time period. Similar is true for nail extensions, with a full set of acrylic nails increasing by less than five U.S. dollars (7.9 percent) since 2010, while a full set of gel nails is now slightly cheaper.
