Data on the amount of persons found to be carrying weapons during stop and searches carried out by the police in England and Wales under section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act (1994) from fiscal year 2002/03 to fiscal year 2019/20 shows that the peak was in 2002/03 when, whilst carrying out such searches, police found 1,568 people carrying weapons.
