United Kingdom (UK): Wheat imports from EU 2002/03-2017/18

This statistic shows the import volume of wheat into the United Kingdom (UK) from trading partners within the European Union, from season 2002/03 to 2017/18. In 2002/03, approximately 646.1 thousand tonnes of wheat were imported into the UK from the EU, which increased to over one million tonnes by 2015/16. While the import volume of wheat from European neighbors has increased, levels of imports from outside the European Union have fluctuated and remained at lower levels. A majority of wheat in the United Kingdom is sourced from European countries, although levels of demand have varied. In general, however, the import value of cereals as a whole has increased, although wheat is not the lead cereal import when based on value.
