In 2012, ethical boycotts resulted in 3.63 billion British pounds in lost revenue. The Ethical Consumer report notes that during this period, tax avoidance by companies had grown and was cited in the YouGov survey as one of the main reasons for boycotting. Since then, the amount of revenue lost has decreased, accounting for approximately 2.56 billion pounds in 2016. As of 2018, affected revenues reached almost 4.6 billion British pounds.
