Number of DIY retail stores in Norway 2003-2015 This statistic shows the number of so-called 'do-it-yourself' (DIY) retail stores in Norway from 2003 to 2015. In the past five years, the number of stores increased slightly. In 2015, there were 701 DIY retail stores in Norway. The number of stores in Norway stayed quite stable over the 13 year period shown in this statistic. The peak level was reached in 2005, where the Norwegian DIY retail could register a total of 758 stores. In the following years, the number of stores was unsteady, with reaching a low of 671 stores in 2009 and peaking with 714 stores in 2011. The leading DIY retailers in Norway, based on the number of stores, are Jernia, followed by Coop Norge and Bygger'n. The market leader Jernia had 150 stores in 2015, while having 15 stores more 5 years earlier (2010: 165). The number of stores of Coop Norge increased slightly, reaching a total of 97 in 2015. In the same year, Bygger'n had 91 stores.
