U.S. leading power plants based on electricity production 2020

Nine out of the ten largest power plants in the United States were nuclear power plants. In 2019, the largest was Palo Verde in Arizona, with a total electricity generation of some 32 terawatt hours. Further, at 29.52 terawatt hours, Browns Ferry Nuclear Station was the second largest U.S. power plant based on electricity generation. West County Energy Center, the only natural gas plant, ranked sixth at roughly 21.5 terawatt hours.
