Value of financial intermediation outside of the banking sector in the UK 2010-2022
The value of total non-bank financial intermediation in the United Kingdom (UK) increased gradually between 2010 to 2022, despite some minor fluctuations. Non-bank financial intermediation (NBFI), also commonly known as market-based financing, is defined as credit intermediation involving activities and entities that fall outside of the regular banking system. As of 2022, the total value of the NBFI in the UK reached a value of 1.72 trillion U.S. dollars.
