The value of assets of insurance companies worldwide increased year-on-year from 2002 to 2021, except in 2008 when a slight decrease was observed. In 2021, the assets of insurance companies globally amounted to approximately 40.6 trillion U.S. dollars - an increase of almost two trillion U.S. dollars from the previous year. Overall, the value of assets of global insurance companies has grown by around 24 trillion U.S. dollars since 2002.
