Value of bank assets in South Africa 2002-2021
The value of assets of banks in South Africa increased considerably from 2002 to 2020. However, in 2021 South African banks' assets decreased from 412.9 billion U.S. dollars the previous year, to 411.1 billion U.S. dollars. During the period under review, the total assets of banks in South Africa increased yearly, only dropping in 2009 and 2021.
