Alumina exports from Italy 2006-2020
The export volume of alumina from Italy fell drastically in 2009, with the global economic downturn forcing the closure of Italy's major alumina producer, Eurallumina, in March of that year. From 2010 to 2015, the annual average export volume of alumina was approximately 15,900 metric tons. Since then, the values have gone up to reach 35,500 metric tons in 2018, only to decrease again in 2019. In 2020, export volumes were of around 25,200 metric tons, a slump of around 11 percent compared to 2019.
