Number of business trips made by Italians 2019-2020, by purpose

The number of trips made by Italian travelers to take part in business meetings roughly halved in 2020 over the previous year. Overall, Italian business tourists made around 670 thousand trips for this purpose, while they took nearly 1.3 million business trips for the same reason in 2019. Meanwhile, the number of business trips to attend congresses, conferences, and similar events declined from roughly 1.3 million in 2019 to just 195 thousand in 2020.
