This statistic is based on an online survey of 941 respondents aged 18 years and older who drank coffee or coffee drinks during the past 7 days. The survey was conducted from April 13 to 29, 2016.

The source adds the following information: For the calculation of the average number of cups per day, weekdays were weighted 5/7 and weekend days were weighted 2/7.
