Breweries' and beverage companies' sales volume of soft drinks in Finland 2012-2022

Over the period from 2012 to 2022, breweries' sales volume of soft drinks in Finland fluctuated, increasing overall. The domestic sales volume of soft drinks decreased from 2013 to 2016 but increased considerably thereafter. In 2022, Finnish breweries sold approximately 315.2 million liters of soft drinks, up by 4.7 percent from the previous year. The soft drink category includes soft drinks of various flavors, most notably cola, and citrus fruits.

Breweries' and beverage companies' domestic sales volume of mineral water increased rapidly

  Finland is well known for its numerous lakes and sequences of ridges even several hundred kilometers long, which appear on an average every 10 to 20 kilometers. Those features build the perfect base for large groundwater resources. Over the past years, Finnish breweries' and beverage companies' sales volume of mineral water increased significantly. In 2021, the sales volume of mineral water reached 112.7 million liters, which was the highest figure in the shown period.
While the sales volume of mineral water increased every year over the past decade, the consumer price index (CPI) of mineral or spring water fluctuated around 133,55 and was measured at 115.58 in 2021, with the base year 2010 equaling 100.

Water exports are on the rise

  While the import volume of water to Finland declined over the past ten years, the export of water shows a contrary trend.
The volume of water exported from Finland increased overall during the past decade. In 2021, the value of exported water amounted to almost four thousand metric tons.
