Book sales revenue in Brazil 2021, by sales channel
Excluding sales to governmental entities, book sales revenue in Brazil added up to more than 3.95 billion Brazilian reals in 2021, of which over 1.18 billion reals (or about 30 percent) came from bookstores. Exclusively online bookstores reported almost 1.18 billion reals in revenue, thus accounting for nearly 30 percent of the total as well. However, online bookstores' share in Brazil's book sales revenue more than doubled between 2019 and 2021, while traditional bookstores' share declined by over 10 percentage points.
