Italy: consumption of cured meat 2017, by gender This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted in Italy between August 1 and September 4, 2017. During the survey, individuals were asked to indicate which kind of cured meat they used to purchase more often, broken down by gender. As of the survey period, 55 percent of men declared to buy in-store sliced meats, whereas the ratio among their female counterparts was significantly lower (26 percent). Indeed, more than half of female respondents (53 percent) stated to buy both packaged cold cuts and in-store sliced meats.
