Italy: share of book readers 2010-2016 This statistic illustrates the share of Italian population who read at least one non-school book a year in the period from 2010 to 2016. The study suggests that the share of book readers in Italy declined by over six percentage points over the selected period. While in 2010 almost 47 percent of the Italian population read a book a year for pleasure, by 2016 their share had decreased to 40.5 percent.
