Italy: share of adults reading books 2010-2016

This statistic illustrates the share of Italian population aged over 18 who read at least one non-school book a year in 2010 and 2016. The study suggests that the share of book readers among adults declined by over five percentage points over the selected period. While in 2010 almost 45 percent of Italian adults read at least one book a year, by 2016 their share had decreased to 49.5 percent.
