In this period, the number of liquor stores increased the most significantly. Between 2007 and 2017, the total number of liquor stores in the Netherlands increased by nearly 400. On the other hand, the number of butcheries in the same period decreased by more than 700. The same trend is visible for the fruit and vegetable stores, which decreased by roughly 500 sales points in this period.
