The number of TJX Companies, Inc. stores in Canada has increased throughout the survey period to reach a total of 484 in 2020. When looking at the brand breakdown, Winners was the most prominent TJX brand in Canada in that year, with 280 stores nationwide. There were 102 HomeSense and Marshalls stores each in that same year.

TJX origins

The TJX Companies, Inc., formed in 1987, is an off-price apparel and home-wear retailer which operates a number of brands in the U.S. and worldwide. T.J. Maxx was the first off-price chain opened before Zayre Corp formed the TJX Companies, Inc. entity. Over time, the company acquired and launched several more brands, such as Winners of Canada, HomeGoods, HomeSense, T.K. Maxx and Marshalls. In 2021, there were over 1,271 T.J. Maxx and more than 1,130 Marshalls stores worldwide.
