Births attended by health professionals in Peru 2021, by type
In 2021, approximately 68 percent of the births that occurred in the last five years in Peru were attended by doctors, while nearly 27 percent were assisted by obstetricians and nurses. During that year, almost 95 percent of women who gave birth in the South American country were assisted by skilled health professionals.
