Number of active physicians in Peru 2020, by region
In 2020, Peru had a total of 90,094 active physicians. Lima was the region with the highest number of medical doctors in the country, with 49,535. La Libertad region followed with 6,604 physicians, and Arequipa ranked third with 6,317 doctors. On the other hand, Madre de Dios, a department in southeastern Peru, had the least amount of active doctors in the country, with 197 physicians.
