When asked about how democracy would be affected if there were no news on television, 78 percent of responding Canadians said that they thought democracy would be seriously or somewhat threatened. Concern about news received via e-mail was much less prevalent, with 54 percent of respondents saying that democracy would not be threatened at all if e-mails were no longer a source of news.
