Instances of abuse experienced by NHS England staff in 2020, by trust
According to a survey conducted in 2020, harassment towards NHS staff is not uncommon among different Trusts in England. In 2020, a fourth of surveyed NHS staff had experienced harassment, bullying, or abuse at work from a patient/service user, a connection to that service user, or other members of the public. Instances of abuse were especially high in ambulance trusts. In 2020, roughly half of surveyed NHS staff within Ambulance Trusts stated to have experienced harassment, bullying, or abuse at work.
