This survey shows the share of American public who predict that in twenty years China will be the world's leading economic power in selected years from 2000 to 2018. In 2000, 15 percent of respondents in the U.S. expected that China would be the world's leading economic power by 2020. This number has increased to 41 percent in 2018.
