Room air conditioning demand in India 2012-2021
In 2021, the demand for room air conditioners in India amounted to approximately 6.1 million units, the highest number of the past decade. Within the observed period, demand for air conditioning increased almost steadily, with one big exception in 2020 when the figure dropped momentarily down to about 4.4 million units, but recovered quickly as if the upward trend of the previous years had not been interrupted at all.
