This statistic depicts the results of a survey asking secondary school students how they had chosen their secondary schools, in Italy in 2018, by gender. According to data, the school choice was a personal decision for 51.4 percent of male and 53.3 percent of female students. Only 5.6 of male and 5.1 percent of female scholars declared that their parents played an influential role in their choice.
