This statistic depicts the favorite degree courses of students graduated from upper secondary school in Italy in 2018, broken down by gender. According to data, 25.6 percent of male students wished to study engineering, whereas only five percent of female students was planning a career in the same field. The most popular courses of study among female graduates were medicine and dentistry (11.3 percent), preferred by only 6.5 percent of male respondents.
