Over the course of 2020 and 2021, every province had reported cases of COVID-19, which is why the country had taken strict measures to fight the spread of the pandemic, such as temporarily closing schools, bars, restaurants, and movie theaters, banning large public gatherings, and encouraging people to work from home where possible. However, as the pandemic begins to subside in 2022, and with the majority of Canadians having been vaccinated, the retail landscape looks different from when the outbreak first began.
