Europe's most expensive city break destinations
Travel
When it comes to travel, most people in Europe are aware of the often extremely high costs involved with heading to nordic countries such as Norway. While these assumptions are indeed well-founded, new analysis by Post Office Travel Money has revealed a more surprising 'most expensive city' for 2018. Commonly associated with the traditionally budget stag weekend, Amsterdam was actually found to be the priciest destination of the 36 cities assessed. With a total cost of £534.51 for things such as a hotel, meal for two and a sightseeing bus tour, the city was considerably more expensive than second-placed Oslo (£510.47) and third-placed Reykjavik (509.64).
