The growing list of Conservative departures
UK Politics
In response to Prime Minister May's newly announced plan to negotiate towards a decidedly softer Brexit, Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, David Davis, has resigned. While Davis clearly wasn't pulling in the same direction as May, his leaving is a big political blow to a prime minister already fighting to keep hold of her position for some time now.
As this chart shows, the 'Brexit secretary' is the sixth position in the Conservative's senior government to need a change of personnel since November. Dominic Raab has been given the gig, but there are now even more serious questions over whether May can hold onto number 10 for much longer.
Update: this chart now includes the latest senior cabinet member to hand in their notice - Boris Johnson.
