Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called for NATO to deploy warships to the sea of Azov. His request comes in the wake of a naval confrontation between Ukraine and Russia in the strait near Kerch which resulted in the Russians seizing three ships and their crews. The call for NATO warships comes as news emerged that British Royal Navy destroyer HMS Duncan was "buzzed" by up to 17 Russian fighter jets
in the Black Sea near Crimea in May of this year.
