In a one-on-one race for the U.S. presidency
, Joe Biden is the Democrat that would achieve the best result opposite Republican presidential incumbent Donald Trump. According to the latest poll by Fox News
, 50 percent of voters would give Biden their vote, while 38 percent would pick Donald Trump. Trump would also lose to candidates Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Kamala Harris (D-CA), according to the poll. The results angered Trump substantially especially because they came from Fox News, a news service normally thought of as a Trump ally.
In a race between Sanders and Trump, Sanders would be ahead with 48 percent of votes opposite 39 percent of votes for Trump. Warren and Harris would receive 46 and 45 percent, respectively, while Trump would receive 39 percent in both races. For these hypothetical races, between 12 and 16 percent of voters said they couldn’t make up their minds, adding an element of uncertainty to the results of the poll, which was conducted between Aug 11 and 13.
