As we enter the festive season, people around the world will begin decorating their homes in preparation for Christmas. Christmas tree, stockings, wreath, lights: there is no shortage of essentials to turn our homes into a winter wonderland.
Results from a recent Statista survey shed a light on where people in different countries get their inspiration when it comes to Christmas decorations. Unsurprisingly, in three of the five countries included in the study, the main source of inspiration is social media: respondents in Mexico were 67 percent to cite social media as their main source of inspiration, while people in the United Kingdom and the United States were 42 percent. In France and Germany however, people simply found their inspiration in the shop (49 and 35 percent, respectively).
When it comes to spending for Christmas decorations, 50 percent of those surveyed in the U.S. said they would spend $150 or more this year; 18 percent of respondents expected to spend up to $100, and 16 percent up to $50.
