Global chocolate confectionery market size from 2012 to 2025
Chocolate appreciation in Canada
In 2020, almost 30 percent of Canadians stated they bought chocolate a few times a month, making it the most common purchasing rate among Canadian consumers. It was not very common for people in Canada to buy chocolate every single day. For over half of consumers within the country, monthly chocolate spending would typically amount to anywhere between one and 15 Canadian dollars. In the same year, Canada’s favorite brand of chocolate was Lindt, a Swiss confectionery brand. Other favorites included Cadbury, Hershey’s, and Ferrero. However, the brand name was far from the leading consideration that led Canadian consumers to purchase chocolate in 2020. What influenced shoppers the most was the flavor of the product. The price and the quality of the product were the second and third most important factors, respectively, while the brand ranked fourth.
