Assets of foreign banks in India FY 2013-2019

Assets of foreign banks in India fell to about 23 billion U.S. dollars in financial year 2019, from over 130 billion dollars the previous year. Assets in the banking sector fell overall due to bad loans, an economic slowdown. The onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic impacted various aspects of the Indian economy, banking included. This meant that a swift recovery was unlikely.
