Gross non-performing loan ratio SCBs India FY 2008-2023, with estimates for FY 2024
India recorded a gross non-performing asset (GNPA) to total advances ratio of over three percent in fiscal year 2023. This was another decrease from the pervious financial year, the country was expected to see a further decrease in bad loans in the next fiscal year.
On the basis of the value for fiscal year 2023, the Reserve Bank of India projected three scenarios for the financial year 2024. Under the baseline scenario, the GNPA-ratio would reach 3.6 percent . Under medium or severe stress the GNPA-ratio would reach 4.1 percent to 5.1 percent respectively.
