Smartphones stolen in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by type 2021

Up until September of 2021, more than 20,000 mobile phones were stolen in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. The number of mobile phones that were robbed by use of force or threat has decreased since 2020, year in which 16,440 phones were reportedly robbed in this state, reaching about 11,280 phones stolen that way up until September 2021. The number of petty thefts, which are defined by the lack of use of force, also decreased since 2020, reaching around 9,480 as of September 2021.
