According to a May 2021 study, the share of Italians planning to go on a summer vacation increased in 2021 over 2019. Overall, 67 percent of surveyed Italians intended to take a summer holiday in 2021, while 61 percent claimed the same in 2019. In contrast, the share of surveyed Austrians planning a summer vacation dropped by nine percentage points over the period considered.
