
Per capita consumption of meat in Europe 2001-2031, by type
Between 2001 and 2031, the per capita consumption of pork and poultry was consistently higher than the amount of mutton and beef consumed in Europe. In 2021, Europeans consumed 32.5 kilos of pork, while the per capita consumption of beef was significantly lower, at 10.4 kilos in total. The per capita consumption of both pork and beef were forecast to decrease over the following years, while the amount of poultry consumed was expected to grow.
