In 2017 and 2018, looking for a sex partner online was more common among men than women in Denmark. To be precise nearly 80 percent of homosexual and nearly 21 percent of heterosexual men reported to have looked for intimacy online. In contrast, 25 percent of homosexual and only eight percent of heterosexual women did so. Over 24 percent of the single survey respondents, had looked for sexual partners online, whereas the corresponding figure for married individuals or ones in registered partnership was seven percent.
Dating apps
Dating apps have been gaining larger and larger popularity worldwide in recent years. Tinder ranked as the number one most downloaded dating app on Androidas of December 2019 and was downloaded more than 3.6 million times. Next in the list were Badoo, happn and MeetMe.
Where is Tinder the biggest?
The leading Tinder market at the end of 2019 were the United States, with Tinder iOS revenue equaling over 66 million U.S. dollars. The United Kingdom ranked second, followed by Canada and Australia. The only Nordic country in top ten leading market based on Tinder iOS revenue for the evaluated period was Sweden, with a revenue of 1.45 million U.S. dollars.
