Share of young people using social media in France 2020, by age
While many young people use social media in France in 2020, they seem to choose different platforms according to their age group. In the 16-18 age group, Instagram was just 4 points above Snapchat, while Facebook was behind with 36 percent. The use of the social network co-founded by Mark Zuckerberg was a little more important among 19-21 years old (66 percent) and 22-25 years old with 77 percent of use, ahead of Instagram (70 percent) and Snapchat (56 percent). Despite gaining a lot of popularity in 2019, TikTok was used by 10 percent of 16-25 years old, according to the study, with a peak of 15 percent for the 16-18 age group.
