Number of internet shutdowns in Jammu Kashmir 2012-2019

The conflict-ridden northern state of Jammu and Kashmir in India saw 55 internet shutdowns in 2019. This was a decrease compared to the previous year, when there were 65 noted internet shutdowns in the valley. As seen from the graph, the number of internet blackouts have been increasing with each year, pointing to an alarming violation of internet freedom for Indian citizens.
