Motor vehicle sales growth worldwide 2015-2022

Global new vehicle sales contracted 1.4 percent between 2021 and 2022. In detail, commercial vehicle sales were down by about 8.3 percent, while passenger car sales were up by 1.9 percent. These fluctuations in the past years were due to a drop in demand amid the COVID-19 pandemic and to the automotive semiconductor shortage.
