Increase in sales of FMCG products due to coronavirus epidemic in Poland 2020

The outbreak of coronavirus has contributed to an increased demand for fast-moving products in Poland. After the government in Poland announced on 11 March 2020 the decision to suspend classes in schools and close the borders, Poles went shopping en masse. During this period, the value of the FMCG basket increased by 57 percent compared to the same week a year earlier, reaching sales peaks similar to those of the pre-holiday period. Sales of the Easter basket 2020 compared to 2019 (April 15-21, 2019) decreased by 10 percent.
