coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in 2020 had a huge impact on the sport industry, leading to the cancelation of many leagues and championships across all sports. One way in which professional sports were safely reintroduced was to play the games out in empty stadiums, with some broadcasters providing live player audio through additional microphones to replace the customary sounds of a full stadium. In a survey conducted in the United States in May 2020, 11 percent of respondents stated that this live audio made watching the sporting event much more enjoyable.
