Brazil: share of footwear production volume 2019, by segment

In 2019, nearly 45 percent of pairs of shoes produced in Brazil were flip flops, while 40 percent were shoes under the category casual or social footwear. Safety shoes, mostly used to prevent injuries in specific work environments, made up 5.3 percent of the Brazilian footwear production. In recent years, the South American country has produced over 900 million pairs of shoes each year.
