Number of cash withdrawals at ATMs in the EU-27 as a whole 2000-2021
Between 2015 and 2019, the number of cash withdrawals made in the European Union has fallen drastically. In 2019, the number of cash withdrawals amounted to 10.9 billion, while the amount reached around 12.3 billion in 2015. The decrease of cash withdrawals across the EU coincides with the increased use of payment cards at the point of sale (POS).
