Mexico: viewers of eLiga MX final phase 2020, by match
In May 2020, the Liga MX Clausura was cancelled by decision of the Mexican Football Federation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic hitting the country. As an alternative, the organizers launched the competition in the form of an eSports tournament. During the final phase of the competition, the most watched game was the match between Mexico City's club América and the Guadalajara-based club Chivas, which counted approximately 1.5 million viewers.
