Leading consumer game genres Japan 2023
According to a survey that was conducted in July 2023 among people in Japan who play consumer games at least once per month, 24 percent of the respondents stated that they currently play a command role-playing game (RPG). Equally high shares of respondents stated to play puzzle games and action RPGs. These were the most commonly played genres, followed by action games and simulation RPGs. Consumer games in this survey referred to console and PC games.
